Malaysian Studies.  National unity = uniting of various groups that have diFerent social and cultural backgrounds into one physical entity- The Malaysians.  Integration = process of uniting groups with diFerent backgrounds into one entity bound by common norms, values and interests.  A process of uniting the members of a society and the country as a whole through national ideologies so that the members of the society can build up an identity, common values and a sense of belonging.

Society  Society is a group of people who are free and able to subsistence themselves.  Related to each other through persistence relations such as social status, roles and social networks.  Shares the same geographical territory and is subject to the same political authority and dominant cultures expectations. Malaysia is a plural society. DeFne plural society!
Plural Society Defnition oF Plural Society :- past-J.S. ±urnival : PS as a medley oF people who do mix but do not combine. (di²erent races)- Characterized by ethnic groups who live under one political unit (a country) but are not integrated.- Each group holds by its own religion, culture, languages, ideas and ways.
